A 25-year-old Brownsville man is jailed on a murder charge after police found his father dead, repeatedly stabbed and apparently run over by a pickup truck. Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio says Alvaro Gonzalez is in a Cameron County jail under a bond set at $250,000. He's accused of the killing of his 56-year-old father, Armando Rodriguez, whose body was found in an open field Saturday night.

Lucio says Gonzalez gave a voluntary statement to investigators. He says detective now believe that he had been angry with his father all day Saturday before Rodriguez was killed.

Jail records do not list an attorney for Gonzalez.
