The accident happened Saturday afternoon on Crosby-Dayton near Adlong School Rd.
According to investigators at the scene, it appears the woman lost control of her car and ran off the roadway. The vehicle hit a sign and ran into a tree.
Officials said the car and the grass around it caught on fire immediately.
The woman died inside the car.
