HOUSTON --Rice University police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a churchgoer at gunpoint in the parking lot of an area church. The Rice University Police Department received a call Friday afternoon from the pastor at First Christian Church on Sunset Boulevard near Entrance 23 to report that one of his staff members was robbed in the parking lot late Thursday night. The victim said he was leaving through the back door of the church when he was stopped by two men in the parking lot. One of the men was armed with a gun and pointed it at the victim during the robbery. The suspects took the man's cell phone, wallet and PIN number to his debit card before fleeing the scene. No other details about the robbery were immediately available, but authorities say a similar incident occurred on April 2 on the north side of the football stadium. A report has been filed with the Houston Police Department and detectives are working to get more facts, including suspect descriptions. So far, the suspects have been described only as two young black men. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Rice University Police Department at 713- 348-6000.
