Ex-Dallas FBI agent gets 2 years for retaliation

DALLAS, TX Carlos Ortiz Jr. of Red Oak was sentenced Friday. The 49-year-old former lawman in December pleaded guilty to retaliating against a federal official.

Ortiz, who'd worked for the FBI since 1988, has been in custody since his arrest last August.

Prosecutors say Ortiz last May was put on leave, pending termination, then proceeded to amass more than two dozen guns and made threats against Special Agent in Charge Robert Casey Jr.

Ortiz was fired at the time of his Aug. 25 arrest. Nobody was injured.
