Man arrested in fatal shooting of man in NW Houston

HOUSTON

Police say patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the Rancho Verde Apartments at 6000 Sunforest about 11:55pm on March 18. The officers found a man deceased in the parking lot. Witnesses stated there was an argument between victim Stephon Sadler, a woman, and suspect James Earl Mason. The argument escalated and Mason shot Sadler, 22, numerous times. Mason and the woman were then seen fleeing the area on foot.

Further investigation led to the identification of Mason as a suspect in this case. Mason, 44, was arrested Monday and subsequently confessed to his role in the incident.

Mason is charged with murder.
