Lawsuit seeks to stop Highway 290 expansion

HOUSTON

The project calls for the highway to double from six to 12 main lanes on a 38 mile stretch of road from FM 2920 to the Inner Loop.

In a lawsuit filed this week against the federal highway administration, six Houstonians claim the government never considered how noise from the increased traffic would impact neighbors and businesses in the area.

The highway administration told Eyewitness News it does not comment on pending litigation.
