Five suspects arrested in gambling investigation

HOUSTON

The suspects, Nancy Donalson, 33, Terry Wayne Donalson, 39, James Keith, 74, Alton Donalson, 76, and Mario Flavio Correa, 40, are charged with felony money laundering.

A sixth suspect, Carlos Delgado, 39, remains at large.

"The players in this investigation been involved in the deaths of three people. Granted, these were people that tried to rob them of cash, but if the bullets are flying in your neighborhood and your children are sleeping, it makes for an unsafe place to live," said Lt. C.A. Vazquez of HPD Vice Division.

The eight-liner game rooms were found at the following locations:

  • 10930 Kingspoint - Lucky Bee Game Room
  • 8310 Gulf Freeway - Gulf Paradise
  • 2728 South Richey - Lucky Game Room
  • 5630 Edgemoor - Cardinal Leak Detection
  • 12338 Maple Leaf Lane (Stafford) - Terry and Nancy Donalson's residence
  • 7919 Twin Hills - Alton Donalson's residence
  • 1412 and 1502 Ahrens (strip mall center) Terry and Nancy Donalson's business offices

In an investigation that began in April 2010, Houston police say vice officers targeted the owners/operators of illegal game rooms. Vice officers conducted surveillance and undercover operations that netted more than $1.5 million dollars in currency, nearly $200,000 in bank account assets, a 10-acre riverfront property in Brazoria County, guns, jewelry, various vehicles, boats, jet skis, motorcycles, and heavy-duty tools.

Investigators also recovered several currency counters, and more than 250 video gambling devices.
