An arrest warrant says the 8-year old boys were playing basketball in the high school gym after school hours last week.
The warrant, according to the television station, says Melendez took the boys into the locker room and spanked them with a metal stick he found at the school.
The arrest warrant does not say why Melendez was angry at his kids.
