Driver sought in fatal hit-and-run

HOUSTON

The incident happened around 5:43am on January 18 in the 8000 block of Fannin, according to a Crime Stoppers statement. Edgardo Martinez was waiting for a train to pass when a vehicle driving south on Fannin hit him, thrusting him into the side of the passing train. The train was able to stop, but Martinez died as a result of injuries suffered from the wreck.

The driver of what appeared to be a small SUV resembling a Nissan Murano never stopped. METRO police suspect it is gray in color and could have damage to the front right side of the vehicle, including a broken headlight.
