HOUSTON --Waller County deputies have arrested a man wanted for a murder dating back to 1998. Raul Perez Uribe was arrested outside a residence near Katy on Tuesday. Sheriff R. Glenn Smith said that Uribe was indicted by the Waller County Grand Jury in May 1998 for the shooting death of Cipriano Sanchez Rivera in Brookshire, Texas. Uribe was determined to have fled to Mexico shortly after the murder. His whereabouts became known based on information provided when he attempted to renew his resident status Green Card. Waller County Sheriff's Office Deputies and Texas Rangers tracked Uribe to a residence where he had been living and working in the lawn care business. He was taken into custody by deputies without incident and booked into the Waller County Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
