New Precinct 2 commissioner, district clerk sworn in

HOUSTON Jack Morman was sworn in as Precinct 2 commissioner today. The Republican says he wants to improve efficiency and infrastructure. Precinct 2 includes parts of Houston and 14 other cities in east Harris County.

Morman upset incumbent Sylvia Garcia in the November election.

The new Harris County district clerk is also now in office. Chris Daniel was sworn in just after midnight. His first act after getting in office was to deputize clerks at the county criminal courthouse. His transition team has been working in the office for the last month.
