The Tyler Morning Telegraph reported Friday that Bourque's mother hopes people have compassion for her son.
Bourque was indicted on five counts of arson and three counts of attempted arson. McAllister was indicted on two counts of arson and two counts of attempted arson.
The men were charged in one fire and suspected of setting up to nine others. Nobody was injured in the blazes.
