Authorities seek three in deadly home invasion

HOUSTON Police say the trio kicked in the door of an apartment on Mainer on the south side early Sunday morning. That's when they attacked two people inside and ransacked the apartment.

The suspects were then surprised by two other people returning home. As the suspects fled the apartment, they fired several shots and struck the victim in the chest.

The male victim, in his 30s, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
