The driver, Jonathan Ray Broussard, 38, was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he later died. His passenger, a 39 year-old male, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with fractures to his left leg and is expected to survive.

He was driving with another man when he ran a stop sign and hit a concrete wall. Police say he may have been texting and did not notice the street ends at the Eastex Freeway feeder road.
