Store owner fights back against would-be robber

HOUSTON It happened around 7pm Sunday at the D & G Beer Station on Richmond in the Montrose area. Investigators say a 36-year-old man and his girlfriend took off without paying for an item. The store owner confronted them outside of the shop, and that's when police say a fight broke out between the two men. The owner allegedly then stabbed the man in the back.

"His girlfriend went to a nearby gas station to call for help," said Mohammad Khan with the Houston Police Department. "He stumbled over her."

The man later died at the hospital. No word on any charges against the store owner.
