Ladies, many of you may be husband-less this weekend. Saturday is the start of deer season. We found people stocking up on camouflage, ammo, and other supplies at Academy Sports and Outdoors on the Southwest Freeway.

"I'm bringing my 14-year-old daughter this time, so I am here buying gear for her," said Dan.

Jon Hodde said, "Just some extra gear. Basically some ammo, the gun and I gotta get a hunting license. That's also what I need."

"Can't wait to get out there. And hope the deer are moving too. This cold weather is welcome," said Lee Beauchamp.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has said the deer population is expected to be very abundant this season because there has been more vegetation for the deer over the summer.

White tail deer hunting season runs from November 6 until mid-January, depending on where in Texas you are going to hunt.
