A system-wide glitch at Continental Airlines caused delays at airports nationwide. The computer system that dispatches planes for Continental Airlines started experiencing delays around 7pm Wednesday, according to officials with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Airport officials grounded all flights around the country until the issue was fixed about two hours later.

The incident caused at least an hour delay for about 40 flights.

"We are reaccommodating affected passengers," Continental Airlines officials said in a prepared statement.
