Motorcyclist dies after losing control on exit ramp

HOUSTON Authorities say the motorcyclist was on I-10 East when he decided to take the northbound exit ramp to the Eastex Freeway. Investigators think he may have been going too fast and lost control on the curve.

The man slammed into a guardrail. A witness told police the motorcyclist then fell from the overpass and landed in the main lanes of the East Freeway. The accident investigation had the area shut down to traffic for nearly three hours.

The 31-year-old victim's name has not been released.
