CCISD hears parents' speed limit complaints

LEAGUE CITY, TX The parents took their complaints to a school board meeting in League City tonight. The district used to provide bus service for Bauerschlag Elementary students living along West League City Parkway. That service ended when road construction was completed.

The district says it doesn't get reimbursed for bus service to students who live within two miles of their school.

"To realize that the reason our buses were taken away was for $36,000 in a district this size is completely unacceptable," parent Sara Corona. "I guess as a parent of three kids I think that my children's life is worth more than $36,000 and I hope that the school district would as well."

The district says it's adding crossing guards on the road to increase safety.
