Illegal night club shut down

HOUSTON Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan announced his office worked with other agencies to close down a sexually oriented business masquerading as a night club in north Houston. Entyce Gentlemen's Club in the 1000 block of FM 1960 was shut down after Linda Geffin, Chief of the County Attorney's Special Prosecutions Unit told the business's landlord that the County Attorney intended to file legal action.

The Special Prosecutions Unit, working with the Harris County Sheriff's Office Special Investigations Division, discovered that the club was a sexually oriented business operating without a permit. Sheriff's investigators reported drug use, prostitution and illegal activities taking place on the premises. The Texas Alcohol Beverages Commission found the club was selling and serving alcohol without a permit. The County Fire Marshall documented many fire code violations.

The site was located less than a half mile from schools and residential neighborhoods.

Since the Special Prosecutions Unit was formed in April 2009, the Harris County Attorney has closed down 18 businesses which they say were used for illegal activities.
