Army Reservists get a nice welcome back at IAH

HOUSTON Family and friends greeted the 27 reservists when they landed at Bush Intercontinental Airport. The soldiers served with the 4005th U.S. Army Hospital based at Ellington Field. The troops spent most of the past year serving as medical instructors and caregivers in Afghanistan.

"It's just overwhelming whenever they come back because it makes you grateful that they came back safe," said Megan Hill, whose brother served in Afghanistan.

"It was unexpected. It really was a big shock. We didn't expect anybody especially our parent unit here in Houston. We didn't expect to see anybody here today. It really floored us," said Major William Baker, Army Reservist.

The reservists served with several units, including the 82nd Airborne and a Marine unit.
