Overturned big rig wreck causes traffic nightmare

HOUSTON It happened at around 3:30am on the ramp from the West Loop southbound to I-10 west. After tipping over, part of the rig was teetering on the edge of the ramp. That ramp was closed for hours as crews worked to upright the rig and clean up the mess.

The big rig was the only vehicle involved in the accident and fortunately, there were no serious injuries.

By 6am, crews had the rig upright, but it took another hour to get the rig hauled away and the debris cleared.

Drivers were being told to detour to I-10 eastbound and U-turn to get back onto I-10 westbound while the ramp was closed.
