Gas explosion injures complex resident

A reported gas explosion at a townhome complex in Tomball sent a resident to a hospital via LifeFlight Monday. The man suffered injuries to his head, feet and face.

A Tomball man was hospitalized after an apparent gas explosion at an apartment complex Monday afternoon.

The man suffered injuries to his head, feet and face, but the extent of his wounds weren't immediately disclosed. He was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital to seek treatment.

It's hasn't been immediately disclosed what exactly exploded at the apartment at the Woodstock Townhomes complex.

Tomball firefighters are still on the scene trying to investigate the cause of the blaze.

No other injuries were immediately reported.

Aerial views of the scene show the apartment completely destroyed, but surrounding units appeared to be intact.
