Houston radio icon back on the airwaves

HOUSTON Many Houstonians can trace back memories of Paul Berlin to as far back as 1948. He retired years later, but was recently lured back into the studio, this time on AM 700 KSEV. For Berlin, it's a chance to create even more memorable on-air moments.

"Most of the time, it's always fond recollections," he told us. "They'll say, 'Paul, I listened to you since I was in junior high,' or 'I had you on when my first baby was born,' or 'When my husband and I got married, you played our song.' Oh yeah. I got all those kind of memories."

Berlin's show airs Saturday evenings. He used to work with our own Eyewitness News Anchor Dave Ward. Dave was the news reader on Berlin's morning radio show decades ago.
