Car slams into convenience store in SW Houston

HOUSTON Around 1pm, a woman was parking her car at the American Food Mart on Stella Link near Braeswood when, according to the store's clerk, the car jumped the curb. It's believed the woman hit the gas instead of the brake, sending her car and two bystanders through the front door of the store.

The impact threw one man to the rear of the store. The other man was pushed into the seven-foot-long beer cooler, which was ultimately sent to the back of the store as well.

Both men sustained injuries, but they're not life threatening. They were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment.

The woman driving escaped serious injuries. She even got her soft drink that she came to purchase, and it was on the house, according to the clerk.
