Authorities are searching for a man wanted for failing to register as a sex offender. Kevin Dwayne Herd was a juvenile when he was convicted of indecency with a child by contact in 2006 and sentence to 18 months probation. He is required to register as a sex offender annually on his birthday in September. He last registered with the Houston Police Department in July of 2009 with an address in the 2300 block of Hayes Street.

After Herd failed to register in September 2009, officers went to his last known address and discovered he no longer lived there. He was charged with failure to register as a sex offender in November and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Herd, 20, is a black male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes with a dark complexion. He also has a scar on his forehead and a tattoo on his left hand. Herd is believed to be in the Houston area.
