Pasadena police say John Lee Smith has been arrested, accused of strangling 76-year-old Nguyen Peer during a burglary on March 16. Her neighbors had called police when they hadn't seen her for some time.
Officers checked the exterior of the woman's home on Burke Road in Pasadena and discovered that the garage door had been left unlocked. They entered the house and found the Peer's body on the floor of a hallway.
