Passenger killed in wreck in NW Harris County

HOUSTON The crash happened around 2am on Highway 6 near West Road. Officials say Christa Rodriguez was riding as the passenger in a vehicle turning in to a Whataburger when a pickup slammed into the car. Witnesses say the truck driver did not have any headlights on.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

The driver of the pickup, Thomas Boyd, was not injured in the crash. He was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
