No trial for Brandon Backe in connection with wedding brawl

GALVESTON, TX Backe and three other guests had been scheduled to be tried in Galveston County on February 8. They were arrested after police say a near riot broke out at the San Luis Hotel in Galveston last year.

The guests claim the officers overreacted and used excessive force. Nine officers were later disciplined for paperwork violations.

This morning attorneys representing the four entered a plea of no contest, and have appealed the cases to county court.
