New electric car docking station at City Hall

HOUSTON A new electric docking station is available outside City Hall. The group Environment Texas released a new report today about the viability of electric cars. They've been shown to reduce emissions. Mayor Annise Parker says it's a step in the right direction.

"I don't expect every Houstonian to suddenly convert to an electric vehicle," she said. "What I expect is that each Houstonian grows more conscious and more aware and makes choices that benefit the whole."

Mayor Parker and State Senator Rodney Ellis got closer looks at two electric cars that were at City Hall. Mayor Parker says car makers need to work with legislators to get more electric vehicles on the streets.
