The Federal Bureau of Prisons did not immediately return a call Monday from The Associated Press. A statement from the bureau says the pair remained at large Sunday, after walking out of a low-security area of the prison on Friday.
Luna was in prison since 2006, serving a decade-long term for importing marijuana. Prison officials believe he was spotted Friday night in Austin, where he has family.
Chavez was imprisoned since 1990, serving a 30-year sentence for cocaine and weapon convictions.
