Police need help finding a killer

HOUSTON Crime Stoppers is calling this a road rage incident, the second in as many days in this area. Orlando Aburto was shot and killed back on September 17, just days after his 25th birthday.

Aburto was out at Christian's Tailgate on Washington with friends that night. Deputies say he left around 2:45am and was heading home on his motorcycle. He went east on I-10 and north on Beltway 8. Police believe someone shot Aburto from behind near the Miller Road 3 exit, which is about a mile away from his house.

Aburto's body was found in a ditch hours after he was shot. His mother pleaded Monday to try to find out why somebody would want to kill her son.

"Something, you know. Something," said Juanita Aburto. "I know he's dead and I'm not going to bring him back, but tell me what happened and why you did it. There are still so many questions out there."

Deputies say Aburto was not involved in a fight at the bar before heading home that night. His family says he has no known enemies.

Anyone with any information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers. There's up to a $5,000 reward in this case.
