Four men get prison for ID theft

PLANO, TX The U.S. Attorney's Office on Friday announced sentences for 39-year-old Gilbert Gotoro of Irving, 32-year-old Christopher Chiota, 32-year-old Tendeka Daniel Parirenyatwa and 27-year-old Michael Thomas Jr. of Irving.

Prosecutors say Chiota was living in Dallas, while fellow Zimbabwe native Parirenyatwa was in Richardson.

The four earlier this year pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit identity theft and bank fraud, for wrongly seeking income tax refunds, than applying for loans based on the bogus claims.

Gotoro must serve 78 months in prison and repay nearly $1.2 million.

Chiota was sentenced to 57 months. Parirenyatwa must serve 46 months in prison, while Thomas was sentenced to 16 months.
