New owner for Memorial Hermann SW?

HOUSTON The hospital, on the Southwest Freeway at Beechnut has about 600 beds. The Hospital District, which runs Ben Taub and LBJ hospitals, needs another hospital in southwest Houston, where there's a growing number of uninsured residents.

Healthcheck Reporter Christi Myers has learned the district decided it's cheaper to buy a hospital than to build one.

The proposal would have to be approved by the county commissioners and Memorial Hermann's board.
