Human rights march planned in Dallas

DALLAS, TX Members of the Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran and the Iran Society said they will gather outside the federal courthouse in downtown Dallas at midday Thursday.

Protests broke out in Iran following the country's presidential election in June. An international human rights group is accusing Iranian authorities of using beatings, sleep deprivation and long interrogrations to force confessions from those detained. The country's hard-line leaders say the unrest has been sparked by foreign meddling.
