Flight attendants asked to take time off

HOUSTON Around 9,500 flight attendants were asked to consider the option which would start September 1. The airline says it only wants between 600 and 700 volunteers.

Employees who opt to take the unpaid leaves, which include a choice of five or nine months, will still get health benefits, travel privileges and will maintain seniority status.
