Minor fire breaks out at school

An area high school suffered a minor fire Tuesday afternoon, but it won't keep students from attending class.Angleton ISD reports that there was a minor fire at Angleton High School. The fire was in a small space between the roof and the insulation. The fire was extinguished in a short amount of time.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and the building is being inspected by emergency management personnel. School district officials don't anticipate any difficulties. AISD will have emergency personnel in the building all night long making sure the campus is secure.

There was no structural damage caused by the fire, and school is scheduled to commence at regular start time Wednesday. Students were dismissed approximately five minutes early this afternoon when the smell was discovered.
