Aggies get by Wright State, 6-4

Joe Patterson's two-run homer in the top of the 11th powered Texas A&M to a 6-4 win over Wright State on Saturday in an NCAA tournament elimination game. [SPORTS BLOG: Read the latest from the Eyewitness Sports team]

Patterson also drove in the tying run in the ninth with an RBI single that made it 4-4.

Texas A&M (37-23) trailed most of the game, but stayed close as reliever Kyle Thebeau shut down the Raiders over the final 6 2-3 innings. Thebeau (3-1) allowed five hits and struck out eight in relief of starter Ross Hales.

Wright State (33-30) starter Alex Kaminsky limited Texas A&M to three runs in 6 2-3 innings. Michael Shum, who pitched 4 1-3 innings, took the loss in relief.
