The Dutchess County Sheriff's office in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., has been evacuated and surrounding streets closed after a shot was fired in the building. Capt. Steven Minard told The Poughkeepsie Journal that a man barricaded himself in the building with a gun. City Police Lt. David Bennett says a shot was fired, but that no other details are immediately available.

Police emergency teams surround the building.
