Strong storms moving slowly SW of Houston

May 27, 2009 8:04:36 AM PDT
Strong storms southwest of Houston could cause big flooding problems in communities near Matagorda Bay. The intense storms are over Palacios and Matagorda. They're not moving quickly and are dropping rain at the rate of four inches per hour. The initial development of this line of storms has the classic look of a major flooding event, according to ABC13 Meteorologist Travis Herzog.

It remains to be seen how these storms will evolve to influence the weather in the immediate Houston area.
