Marjorie Tankersley went before a Harris County judge this morning. She faces a misdemeanor charge of prostitution and remains free on a $500 bond. Tankersley's attorney told Eyewitness News the court appearance is part of routine procedure.

"The case is just beginning, got a long way to go," said attorney Alan Cohen. "They will be sharing considerable additional information with me but that's really the extent of it."

Tankersley stands accused of working as a prostitute for Deborah and Charles Turbiville. Investigators say they ran a prostitution ring with a client list of about 1,500 names which includes professional athletes, doctors, and lawyers.

The Turbivilles face charges of promotion of prostitution.
