The hip-hop businessman both confirmed and defended his actions in an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday.
He says: "It's my house, and I'm allowed to give my house to whoever I want to give my house to."
Brown is accused of beating up Rihanna. But Diddy maintains he doesn't condone domestic violence, saying: "I don't think it's right for anybody to hit anybody."
When pressed by DeGeneres why he got involved in the dispute, Diddy said it "was a dark time" for the couple and he "was there as more of a support."
He says he was there "as a friend" to the couple.
