Two weeks ago, /*Sabrina Pina*/ was found dead in northwest Harris County. Yesterday women and men attended a free self-defense seminar held in Pina's honor in southwest Houston. Instructors taught the participants different kicks and punches they can use to get away from an attacker.

"I just want to be more protected, know that I have the skills that are necessary in order to be ready in case something like this happens," said participant Evelia Toledo. "Because you never know who it could happen to or when it could happen."

Instructors say it's also important for everyone to always be aware of their surroundings. That way they are mentally prepared.
