Fires have residents nervous

Flames started Saturday morning off Curry and Riner in north Houston.

"Oh my God, again? It's kind of ridiculous," said resident Nicole Robinson.

That's one word for it. Building after building burned. Arson seems to be the case at the Villa Bonita apartments in north Houston.

The property managers told us two buildings have burned since the start of the new year. The fires were set on purpose and now another one burned Friday night.

"I just watched, got scared a little," said resident Jose Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was scared because he lives right next door.

"I thought it was gonna come over this way too, and burn," Gonzalez.

It didn't, but it was close.

"They might burn these houses too, or do the same thing to these houses," said Gonzalez.

After the first two buildings burned, the property manager told us they finally installed surveillance cameras. There are a lot of cameras all over the property. The video is being reviewed with the hope of catching a fire setter.

Residents are worried about much more than losing another building.

"I'm more worried about the kids that are residents here. So the kids are really my concern," said Robinson.

Fire investigators said they are looking into the case, but haven't confirmed if the fire was set on purpose.
