The 19-year-old was with the Prairie View trial riders who stopped at a campsite in Waller County. The five months pregnant woman, another adult and five children had gone to sleep in a trailer when carbon monoxide fumes from a generator outside entered the trailer.
"One of the girls there used to live in a trailer house and she recognized the symptoms, and she got all of them out, but they tried to drag this one out. They never made it," said Stella Qualls with the Prairie View Trail Ride.
Paramedics transported one child to Memorial Hermann Hospital for treatment in a hyperbaric chamber. The Prairie View trail riders will continue on their way to Houston for Saturday's Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade.
