Police shut down 'one stop drug shop'

On Thursday, February 12, 2009, Baytown Police Special Operations detectives along with Hot Spot officers executed a narcotics search warrant at 4601Village Lane, Village Lane Apartments.

Detectives obtained a narcotics search warrant after conducting an investigation into reports that illegal drugs were being sold from apartment # 2028.

After entering the apartment, detectives and Hot Spot officers located a variety of narcotics. Seven different illegal drugs were present along with a stolen handgun. The following narcotics were seized from the apartment:

  • Cocaine (powder) -- 26.50 grams
  • Cocaine (crack) -- 24.00 grams
  • Marijuana -- 549.00 grams
  • Ecstacy -- 32.50 grams
  • Xanax -- 13.00 grams
  • P.C.P. -- 2.00 grams
  • Codeine - 17.76 ounces
The street value of these narcotics is approximately $6,500. Detectives say $4,600 in cash was also seized from the apartment.

Raleigh Amey, 23, and Latonya Haddock, 24, were arrested. Amey was charged with two first degree felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one second degree felony count of possession of a controlled substance. His bond amount is posted at $30,000. Haddock was charged with possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor. Her bond amount is posted at $500.
