On Friday at about 1pm, officers went to a home in the 1800 block of Barker Cypress Road to check on the welfare of Rumalda Imelda Nino, 27. A family member had reportedly been told by Nino's common-law husband Carlos Eduardo Rodriguez, 37, that Nina was dead. Officers found her strangled in her bed.
Rodriguez was charged with murder, but on Sunday morning, he was found hanged in an apparent suicide in his residence in the 7900 block of Bellfort.
