Local preachers accused of stealing from govt.

Eric and Sheila Washington, both pastors of Fishers of Men Worship Center and two other people are accused of stealing money meant for students and hurricane evacuees. The indictment claims they would take money that was supposed to be used for student loans. They are also accused of filing fake claims with FEMA, saying they sheltered Katrina evacuees. The charges are result of two years of undercover investigations.

The FEMA fraud charges in the church case now makes 89 people fraud charges relating to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
