Queen Elizabeth II to visit Google HQ

Britain's royal palace says Queen Elizabeth II will visit Google's central London headquarters. Buckingham Palace says she and her husband, Prince Philip, will see a demonstration of the company's technology and meet schoolchildren who won a competition.

To mark the occasion the Internet giant designed a special logo for its UK home page. The illustrated version of the company's name features a silhouette of the monarch's head in place of the second G and a crown above the E.

The queen plans a palace reception later Thursday for Britain's Olympic team.

Google is based in Mountain View, California.
