Queen Elizabeth II to visit Google HQ

LONDON, England Buckingham Palace says she and her husband, Prince Philip, will see a demonstration of the company's technology and meet schoolchildren who won a competition.

To mark the occasion the Internet giant designed a special logo for its UK home page. The illustrated version of the company's name features a silhouette of the monarch's head in place of the second G and a crown above the E.

The queen plans a palace reception later Thursday for Britain's Olympic team.

Google is based in Mountain View, California.
