Fatal accident being blamed on speed

HOUSTON It happened around 1:30am. Investigators say a speeding driver lost control just before the Monroe exit and hit the center barricade. He was thrown out of the car and died instantly.

No one else was involved in the accident. The freeway was shut down for several hours but has since reopened.
